The KAIST Advanced Institute for Science-X (KAIX) was established in 2019 to serve as a
continuous academic exchange hub for world-class scholars dedicated to exploring unknown
knowledge and challenging problems in basic science research, while also engaging in activities
aimed at expanding the public's understanding of fundamental science.

  • International Academic Exchange Platform

    Support global researchers to freely gather at KAIST for international collaborative research focused on emerging topics in future science, conducting various academic exchange events such as conferences, symposiums, workshops, and basic schools. Operate a continuous visiting program linked to various online and offline academic events. Enable foreign scientists to stay at KAIST for short or long periods, providing a platform for creative discussions and exchanges to foster international joint research achievements in the field of convergent basic sciences and enhance KAIST's global recognition.

  • International Multidisciplinary Expert Exchange

    We invite a balanced, multidisciplinary group of global experts to KAIST, including top scholars and mid-career researchers with international recognition in basic sciences (physics, mathematics, chemistry, life sciences, cognitive neuroscience, and medical sciences), as well as early-career researchers with high growth potential, to enhance international visibility and secure initiatives in key research areas.
